ADOPTION POLICY

Galway SPCA operates a NO KILL policy in our animal sanctuaries and those animals that do not find homes will remain in our care for life. Please note that, while we try to keep the adoption pages as up to date as possible, it is advisable to ring the number provided with the animal's details to check availability, as they may already have been rehomed, fostered or reserved. Homechecks are carried out before any of our animals are rehomed and we do ask for a donation to help towards the cost of vaccinations, neutering, worming etc.
Directions to our sanctuaries can be found on the Contact page.

Our policy is for the protection of animals that go for adoption and it is our preference that you agree with the following points in order to be considered for a homecheck.

1. You must allow dogs/cats in the house.

2. Your garden must be fully enclosed by walls or secure fencing (not hedges).

3. The dog must not be left alone all day.

4. Children must be over seven, this is for the child’s protection as well as the protection of our animals.

5. Everyone in the household must be fully welcoming of the new pet.

Once you have read and agreed with the above policy then proceed to the adoption pages for either Cats or Dogs and hopefully there you will find your friend for life.
